London Translations Certified First for Quality

On of 22nd Feb. 2007, London Translations Limited became the first and translation company to be independently audited and awarded the new British Standard EN 15038 for translation quality for their Business Critical Translation service.

So why does that matter to you?

Almost all translation companies purport to offer 'high quality' translation services but are unable to substantiate such claims leaving you unsure whether you are really getting the high standards you are paying for.

The new BRITISH STANDARD 'BS EN 15038' for translation service quality is an important landmark in our industry as, for the first time, you can ask potential suppliers for something tangible to help separate true quality providers from pretenders.

What does the standard actually mean?

BRITISH STANDARD EN 15038 is an industry-specific standard which covers the unique challenges involved in delivering high quality translation services.

Unlike other generic standards such as ISO9000, translation companies offering services which comply with BS EN 15038 must have specific externally auditable processes and procedures in place which provide the checks & balances needed to ensure translation service quality. Although some translation companies may decide to take the less rigorous route to 'self declaration', there are no short cuts to independent certification. Beyond mere 'compliance'

Our CEO, Peter Bennett, is not content with merely complying with the standard. Indeed he has been a vocal critic of some aspects of it as he believes it does not go far enough to ensure the quality our Business Critical translation customers demand. Interviewed shortly after our successful audit, he issued the following statement:

"Whilst the introduction of BS EN 15038 represents an important step forward in helping customers find quality suppliers, in my opinion it does not go far enough. London Translations have always offered services which exceed the requirements of the standard and will continue to do so."

Bennett's claims of over-delivery were backed up during pre-audit preparations by industry expert, Chris Cox:
