Czech language overview
Czech, along with Slovak and Polish, belongs to the western group
of Slavic languages. It is also loosely related to the languages of
the east Slavic group - Ukrainian, Belorussian, and Russian and the
southern Slavic group - Bulgarian, Macedonian, Slovene, Serbian, and
Croatian. As a Slavic language Czech belongs to the eastern division
of Indo-European languages.
Location: The Czech Republic is in central Europe, Southeast of Germany.
Bohemia in the west consists of rolling plains, hills, and plateaus
surrounded by low mountains; Moravia in the east consists of very
hilly country.
